About
My research examines the causes, assessment, and treatment of sexually violent and aggressive behaviors, including sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and child sexual abuse. I focus on how personality traits (e.g., antagonism, narcissism, psychopathy), impulsivity, alcohol and substance use, and cognitive factors such as attitudes, beliefs, and normative misperceptions contribute to risk. By integrating insights from clinical and personality psychology, human sexuality, and prevention science, I aim to clarify the mechanisms that drive sexual violence and translate this knowledge into effective, evidence-based prevention and intervention programs that can be implemented in real-world settings.
